November Wrap Up and December Reading Goals

Hello! Yes, this blog is still alive, I just haven’t been very good at updating it this month (which I feel bad about, but sometimes these things just happen). In what has been possibly the busiest month of the year so far, I only managed to read 5 books. FIVE. But I did have a week away, which resulted in the creation of a new logo for this blog! Sound the trumpets!

October Wrap Up and November Reading Goals

Well. It’s safe to say that I majorly failed at updating my blog this month. Whereas last month I had no finished posts and felt guilty, this month I finished said posts… and then didn’t post them (therefore maintaining the guilt). GOOD JOB, ME.

October has been a bit of a weird month – I’ve found myself thinking “it’s been a funny old day…” every day (yes, in full on Open All Hours style, only not whilst dismantling the outside display of a corner shop. Wow, I’ve just thrown a lot of readers…), and has been a mix of intensely busy (work, events, and two weekends away) and low-key anxiety filled days – to the point where I can’t really remember the start of the month, and I’m convinced it didn’t actually occur.

Rambling sentence aside, I’ve read a total of 8 books this month (/half a month, if the conspiracy theories are indeed true), with about a 75% enjoyment rate (yes, I just did some maths to figure that out. See kids, you do use maths as an adult… *cough*), which I count to be a success.

September Wrap Up and October Reading Goals

Another month gone by, another blog post to write. September ended up being incredibly busy (lol @August-me), and I didn’t even get 10 books read! Oh, woe is me. Saying that, I did read 8 books, and considering there was a week or so in the middle of the month where I was here, there, and everywhere, I guess it’s not surprising that I didn’t fit any more books in. 8 is still a good number to have read. September also featured the third meeting of Bears Books (we have a twitter now. How exciting!), and I attended the Lush Book Club, which was Anna James in conversation with Kiran Millwood Hargrave, aka one of my Favourite Authors Ever (see here for my review of her second book, and here for a few photos from the event), plus there were many book launches, book purchases (*ahem*) and even a publishing conference. No wonder I’m knackered…!

August Wrap Up and September Reading Goals

Oh look, it is the end of another month. That can mean only one thing – time for an end of month wrap up! (Cue applause and cheering.) August has been a bit of a weird month for me; on one hand it has been packed with work and catching up with friends and events, but on the other it has seemed to be never ending, and that the start of the month was yonks ago. (Time! Stop messing with my head, pls.) Although I feel like I didn’t get much read at all, I still managed 13 books (not all pictured below!), which is a lot more than I was imagining I would finish this month. See, miracles do happen. (Cue that song from The Princess Diaries soundtrack.)

July Wrap Up and August Reading Goals

What’s this? Another month has come to an end?! Seriously, July has  f l o w n  by and has been such a busy month – reading included! You may noticed, dear blog reader, that I haven’t posted much this month (the fact that there are reviews from last month’s wrap up that I haven’t finished is a bit of a sore point for me at the moment. I’ll get on that asap…), mainly because I have had extra shifts at work, and also because I did a LOT of reading in July. (Yay, go team!) Including the 2 books not pictured below (both borrowed from, and read at, work), I finished 16 books. I also failed at getting to YALC (can I take this moment to publicly apologise to my managers for having to work with a Grumpy McGrump whilst YALC was happening), but let’s not dwell on that any more.

June Wrap Up and July Reading Goals

End of the month wrap ups have been something I have been doing over on my instagram for a while now, so I figured it was time for me to expand them over on my blog (honestly, why didn’t I think of this sooner?!). I managed to read 11 books this month, and considering I went away for a week and a half (and apparently I don’t get to read much on holiday any more?!?), I am pretty pleased with that. Well on my way to achieving my reading goal this year!
